Enduring 25 years of unsuccessful IVF attempts, a Scottish woman is overjoyed to share her immense happiness upon finally welcoming her first child. After 21 rounds of trying to conceive, this determined woman successfully gave birth to a healthy baby girl, and her joy knows no bounds.
Helen Dalglish invested over KSh 17 million across two decades in the hope of holding her bundle of joy. Welcoming a lively baby girl, the new mom expressed that the two decades of pain have been wiped away and forgotten.
“When you experience that little miracle at the end, the 25 years fade away. As I looked down and saw the bump growing, I thought, ‘Am I dreaming?’ Seeing her, I still can't believe I'm a mom. It feels surreal.”
Helen embarked on her journey to have a baby at the age of 28 with her then-husband, facing a diagnosis of unexplained infertility.
A consultant informed her about the severe tilt of her uterus, consistently resulting in negative outcomes in her attempts to get pregnant. Subsequently, Helen became pregnant three times but faced heartbreaking miscarriages. Her only chance at motherhood involved using donor eggs.
Receiving the incredible news via email, Helen and her husband were moved to tears as the dream of becoming parents drew closer than ever.
“When we returned home, tears flowed. It felt like 25 years of grief trying to break free, catching me unexpectedly. It's pure bliss. She keeps getting better. She appears to be the most calm, laid-back, and happy baby. It's as if I waited so long, and now I'm being spoiled,” she shared.
