"A Tale of Courage: Two Sisters Battling a Mysterious Disease"

Having been born for some time, the parents discovered an unusual disease affecting both their daughters, causing a bending of their heads and necks, weakening their health. This condition led to them being mocked as “aliens” by many people.

Over the last few days, on various forums, they shared the story of two sisters, Radha Devi mami (7 years old) and Radha Devi mamo (4 years old), residing in mahadi village . Both suffer from scleroderma, a condition that makes them look different from normal children.

This ailment causes the sisters’ heads to be constantly tilted, stunts hair growth, and makes it challenging for them to walk and stand. Their eyes widen, contributing to the pity many feel when seeing them.

Despite their appearances being likened to aliens, especially given the family's economic struggles, the parents, Mr. Radha John and Ms. Mary, tirelessly invest their money and efforts into seeking medical treatment for their daughters. Unfortunately, the disease persists.

In a recent interview, Mr. John, born in 1986, expressed deep sorrow: “My wife and I got married in 2009, and in 2011, we welcomed our daughter Radha. She seemed to be developing normally initially. However, we later discovered strange symptoms, leading us to consult doctors who diagnosed her with scleroderma.”

Despite the family's relentless efforts in seeking medical care for both daughters, there has been no improvement in their condition. Born in 2013, the second daughter, Nhi, also suffers from the same ailment as her elder sister.

Mr. John, sharing the family's challenging journey, stated: “When the children were born, they appeared normal, but we suddenly discovered the disease after some time. Unsure of what to do, we worked hard and allocated our earnings for their well-being and medical treatments. However, their condition hasn't improved over the years.”

Ms. Si, born in 1985, added: “Our daughters have normal intellectual development, but due to the illness, their limbs are weak, and it's difficult for them to move. Their heads are always tilted to one side. Radha could only complete preschool at the age of 5 before her health prevented her from continuing. Mamo, unfortunately, can't even attend preschool now.”

Despite the family facing economic difficulties and living separately to manage their daughters' care, the parents remain devoted to seeking treatment for their children. Mr. John, while working as a farm assistant and occasional helper, shared that the family's life has become increasingly challenging.

Mr. Radha Jane, Secretary of the People’s Committee of maradi commune – Kaloce district, emphasized the family's struggle with the prolonged and difficult situation of having both children affected by the same disease. The parents' deep concern and commitment to the care and treatment of their daughters remain steadfast, even as the disease persists.
