A woman, initially convinced she had suffered a miscarriage with her quadruplets, has since shared a remarkable twist in her journey to motherhood—learning she was still carrying twins, all thanks to a dream visitation from her late grandfather.
Meet Emma White, a 38-year-old from Liverpool, whose path to becoming a mother was marked by numerous challenges, including enduring 16 miscarriages over a span of 20 years. After the birth of her daughter, Mollie Rose, now 13, Emma made the heart-wrenching decision to forgo further attempts at pregnancy.
However, fate had different plans when Emma crossed paths with Joe White, 41, a jewelry importer, in 2019. Hoping to start a family together, Emma found herself pregnant once more. The journey took an unexpected turn at six weeks with complications related to an ectopic pregnancy, leading to emergency surgery. During the operation, a blockage was discovered in one fallopian tube, but miraculously, the pregnancy persisted.
The news of naturally conceived quadruplets brought immense joy to both Joe and Emma. Yet, at nine weeks, Emma faced alarming bleeding, prompting fears of losing the pregnancy. Initial assessments by hospital staff, hindered by ongoing bleeding, indicated that Emma might have passed the pregnancy.

In Emma's case, Vanishing Twin Syndrome had occurred, where one twin in each set of identical twins didn't survive, leaving her with two non-identical twins. The embryos had been naturally passed.

At 37 weeks, Emma delivered two healthy girls—Aurora Azalea weighing 5lb 2oz and Ophelia Lili weighing 5lb 11oz on October 2, 2021, at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
