Armani is currently grappling with lymphoma, with noticeable growths of this particular tumor type causing an enlargement in both the chest and arms.
Chelsey Milby, the 33-year-old mother of the baby, endured a challenging pregnancy and childbirth experience. At 17 weeks pregnant, sonographers expressed concerns about a dangerous fluid buildup around the heart, a rare condition that only occurs in 1 in 4,000 births. They conveyed that the baby might not survive the birthing process.
Despite medical suggestions of abortion, Chelsey remained steadfast in not considering it. Her family holds onto the belief that miracles can manifest when their child is born.
Chelsey shared with the media: "Upon learning about my child’s condition, I was deeply depressed and heartbroken, struggling to comprehend what was happening, especially since I had previously given birth to two healthy babies. Each day, I find myself asking God why."
Throughout her pregnancy, people frequently speculated about triplets due to the noticeable size of her belly. By the 33rd week of pregnancy, Chelsey's weight reached 91kg, and her health continued to deteriorate.
The expanding fetus made it increasingly difficult for Chelsey to breathe and sleep, necessitating constant fluid withdrawal from her stomach. An emergency surgery was conducted to safely deliver the baby.
As Chelsey entered the operating room, the entire family waited anxiously outside, hopeful for a miracle. The baby's father, Mr. Blake, stood by, offering prayers for the well-being of both mother and child.
During the cesarean section, Chelsey experienced fear but also joy upon seeing her baby's face. Recounting the moment, she said, "They had to administer something to calm me down during my panic attack. I screamed and cried a lot when I actually witnessed my baby being born."
Baby Armani arrived weighing 5.5kg. Following the birth, the family traveled 100 miles to Cincinnati for specialized hospital care.
Post-childbirth, Chelsey grappled with severe postpartum depression. The mother of three shared, "I had to battle severe postpartum depression; I had to set it aside and strive to be the strongest person possible for Armani and my two remaining children."
Armani is slated for surgery later in the year to remove excess lymph vessels, paving the way for a more typical babyhood. Future surgeries may be required to address excess skin. Despite the challenges, Chelsey remains optimistic about her child's prospects for a normal life. She affirmed, "We're doing everything we can to provide Armani with the best life possible. He'll be saying 'mommy' before we know it. Armani is our miracle baby, and we love him dearly," confided the mother.
